About

Jess Wallace is a theatre artist from Alpine, Utah. Growing up in Utah, she fostered a deep appreciation for the arts at an early age, performing and crafting costumes throughout Junior High and High School. She decided to embark on a professional theatre career in 7th grade when she attended the Utah Shakespearian Festival's production of Comedy of Errors.

She received a BFA in Theatre in 2015 and worked regionally as a Director, Actor, Designer and costume maker. It was during that time that she married her mission sweetheart and starting having kids. She has provided costume support to many a high school production along the Wasatch front as well as worked in the shops of the Hale Center Theatre Sandy, West Side Theatre Company, and Viva La Diva drag show. She returned to school and completed her Master of Fine Arts degree in Costume and Projection Design for Theatre at Utah State University in May of 2022.

Weeks after graduating (and giving birth to her third child), Jess had the exciting opportunity to design Man of La Mancha for Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theatre. After an exciting summer here at UFOMT, she had the pleasure of accepting her first position in higher education at Snow College in Ephraim, Utah as an Assistant Professor of Theatre. Jess later accepted the position of Costume Director at UFOMT and Co-Chair of the Theatre Department as a Production Manager at Snow College.
