Reading the script for ‘A School for Scandal’, the humor is crucial and difficult for a contemporary audience to access. As I approached this design, I tried to focus on how I could bring the humor to life for a modern audience. That put me on the path of a Hip-Hop/Restoration Comedy fusion. If the British Aristocracy were the butt of these jokes all those years ago, surely the Kardashians are a modern equivalent?
